About Simon
I have been passionate in helping people to realise their potential since I began my health and fitness career in 1998. I became an internationally accredited personal trainer through the American Council on Exercise and worked to achieve a diverse range of client goals including post injury rehabilitation and pain management through to sports conditioning. I was invited to share my expertise and knowledge, presenting educational workshops to fitness trainers and client groups in London and the Midlands. In December 2001, I was presented with the Startrac Award for outstanding client care and featured in Bodylife magazine. I went on to study and practise as a CHEK (Corrective Holistic Exercise Kinesiologist) and specialised in using corrective exercise techniques and lifestyle intervention to address muscular imbalances, enhance wellbeing and improve overall performance. In 2005, in a search for greater confidence and to overcome my fear of public speaking, I participated in a program called the Landmark Forum in London. This was one of the most profound and transformational experiences of my life. It completely lifted the lid off what I thought was possible, and a few weeks later, in a Landmark seminar I spoke to over 100 people! |
With my new found confidence; I created and lead a series of wellbeing workshops called `Breathe Easy' and also an event for carers called `Care360'. I went on to became a Coach on their premier Leadership programme which expanded my ability to really listen, and guide people to connect with their inner power and wisdom. After witnessing a lady on one of the courses overcome ME in less than a week, I realised the undeniable link between mind and body.
This evoked my interest to explore some of the mind and body disciplines and I became a student of both Tai Chi and the Alexander Technique, which focus on the power of mindful awareness and breathing to direct and transform our bodies. Then in Nov 2009, I embarked upon training in a new technique, which was to completely transform my approach to my work and ultimately my life. The technique called 'Be-Activated' was created by Douglas Heel a South African physiotherapist with training in several eastern philosophies including acupuncture and applied kinesiology. What I learned was astounding. I was in awe of the immediate and dramatic changes I experienced, and witnessed in others. The profound training and mentoring I received from Douglas became my inspiration for the creation of ATP and his philosphy and techniques form the core foundation of my practice. I spent a year assisting Douglas in the delivery of his Be-Activated courses in the UK and to further deepen my understanding of the techniques I trained as a Touch for Health Practitioner. I love the look on people`s faces when they suddenly discover new found strength and connection with themselves, and the happiness, wonder and joy this brings. This technique is truly amazing, and even more so, that the power is left in you own hands (literally) ! Welcome to a new world of performance and possibilities! |
